Heart and Vascular Group is a growing, physician-led cardiovascular practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking an experienced, friendly, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist who enjoys interacting with patients and thrives in a fast-paced medical office.
As the first person our patients meet, you will represent our practice with professionalism, warmth, and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Answer multi-line phones and direct calls appropriately
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments
- Register patients and update demographic information
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain referrals/authorizations
- Collect co-pays and patient balances
- Check patients in and out efficiently
- Scan and upload medical documents into the EMR
- Coordinate with physicians, medical assistants, and nursing staff
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Help ensure smooth daily clinic operations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of front desk experience in a medical office
- Experience working with Athena and/or Epic Electronic Medical Records
- Strong computer and typing skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
- Dependable, punctual, and organized
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy specialty practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiology practice experience
- Knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations
- Experience collecting co-pays and patient balances
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
