What You'll Do
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead financial planning & analysis (FP&A) including budgeting, forecasting, CapEx/OpEx, and product-level P&Ls.
- Manage vendor contracts, billing, and third-party data/technology costs, ensuring rationalization, efficiency, and ROI.
- Lead cloud and compute cost forecasting and management, working with technology teams to optimize infrastructure spend.
- Oversee and mature financial processes and systems that support budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and reporting (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP cost management tools, enterprise FP&A platforms).
- Support investment decisions, build/buy analyses with financial modeling and scenario planning.
- Ensure processes and reporting align with corporate finance requirements for governance, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Partner with product and analytics leaders to translate usage and performance metrics into financial impact and ROI.
- Work with Product leadership and Hearst divisional stakeholders to define and measure our team's financial impact (cost savings, revenue enablement) via products in- flight. Translate usage and performance metrics into financial impact and ROI.
- Run product prioritization meetings with team leadership to align on goals, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure resources are focused on the highest-impact initiatives.
- Provide executive-level presentations, delivering clear insights into performance, forecasts, and strategic investments.
- Deliver ad hoc financial and strategic analyses in support of the CDO and executive team, including scenario modeling and investment evaluation.
- Analyze market landscape and market trends, and identify opportunities and recommend how CDT products should evolve.
- Work with Hearst division stakeholders to model enterprise-wide opportunities and scenarios.
- 8–12 years in finance, FP&A, or corporate operations, ideally with exposure to technology, data, or product-driven businesses.
- Strong skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning.
- Experience in vendor management and cost optimization across third-party data and technology investments.
- Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
- High visibility: Report directly to the Chief Data Officer with regular exposure to business stakeholders.
- Strategic impact: Help mature the financial processes, systems, and operational models that will define the next stage of Hearst’s data strategy.
- Cross-divisional exposure: Work across all Consumer Media divisions and Technology groups, partnering with senior leaders on strategic investments, operational optimization, and financial stewardship.

Salary : $195,000 - $207,000
