The Certified Medical Assistant II (CMA II) provides essential support to healthcare providers by carrying out both clinical responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient care and effective operational workflow. CMA II helps provide coverage and support across multiple HealthyU Clinics locations, ensuring seamless patient care and clinical operations. Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure compliance with specialty care and HealthyU protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and update EHR systems
- Collect and document patient history, vital signs accurately, chart prep accurately and medication prior authorizations
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
- Rooming both physical and telemedicine patients
- Provide patient education and post-visit instructions
- Monitor and maintain medical and office supply inventory levels, ordering and tracking supplies to ensure adequate stock
- Monitor and maintain POC logs
- Travel to different clinic locations as needed to assist providers and support staff
- Understanding and willingness to comply with HealthyU Clinics Value Base Care protocols
- All other duties as assigned
- Medical Assistant Certification required
- Proficient phlebotomy skills
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a medical assistant
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EHR systems)
- Athena experience highly preferred
- Adaptability and ability to work in different service lines across HealthyU Clinics
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Reliable transportation is required for all positions, as occasional travel to other clinic locations based on clinical needs may be required
