AVAILABLE SHIFTS (tell us which shift or shifts you want when you apply)
- Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM (full-time, 40 hours per week)
- Evening Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM (full-time, 40 hours per week)
- Weekend Shift: Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM-11:00 PM (part-time, 28 hours per week)

ABOUT US
Healthy Living Option Inc. (HLO) provides person-centered residential support in a home-like setting for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We help each person live safely, make their own choices, and take part in their community.

THE ROLE
As a Direct Support Professional, you give hands-on daily support to adults living in an HLO home, following each person's Person-Centered Plan to promote independence, health, safety, and community involvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with daily living: personal care, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mealtimes, with privacy and dignity
- Follow each person's Person-Centered Plan, support goals, and behavior support or health protocols
- Administer and document medications and treatments as a Certified Medication Technician
- Prepare meals and keep the home clean, safe, and comfortable
- Support community outings, appointments, recreation, and relationships with family and friends
- Provide safe transportation in the community
- Complete daily notes, medication records, and incident reports accurately and on time
- Report any abuse, neglect, injury, or emergency immediately, and use MANDT de-escalation techniques when needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older; high school diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience as a DSP or in direct care for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Satisfactory Maryland CJIS and FBI fingerprint-based criminal background check
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Active Maryland Board of Nursing Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification
- Current MANDT certification
- Completed Maryland DDA Core trainings
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, and the ability to transport the individuals we serve in the community (required duty of the position)
- Pre-employment health screening (including TB) and satisfactory references
- Legal authorization to work in the United States

- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/GNA) certification a plus but not required

PREFERRED
- Experience with Maryland DDA-funded services
- Experience supporting behavioral, medical, or communication needs

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standing and walking for most of the shift; lifting or assisting with transfers up to 50 pounds; working holidays as scheduled.

PAY AND BENEFITS
$18.00 per hour. Benefits: pay time off, 401(k) for 'full-time' employees only
