Duties
- Develop tailored employment plans by assessing clients’ skills, interests, and barriers to employment
- Conduct engaging interviews to identify suitable job opportunities and match clients with local employers
- Provide comprehensive training and development sessions on workplace skills, job readiness, and soft skills
- Mentor clients through ongoing support, encouragement, and problem-solving strategies to ensure successful job retention
- Collaborate with employers to promote inclusive hiring practices and facilitate workplace accommodations when needed
- Stay informed on employment & labor law to ensure compliance during placement processes
- Assist clients with resume writing, interview preparation, and job application procedures
- Maintain detailed records of client progress, employment outcomes, and service delivery activities
- Provide on site support to newly employed participants
Qualifications
- Proven experience in workforce development, social work, or related fields with a focus on employment services
- Strong knowledge of employment & labor law as it pertains to workplace rights and accommodations
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism is highly preferred
- Background in addiction counseling or teaching can enhance your ability to support diverse client needs
- Excellent interviewing, mentoring, recruiting, and training skills to motivate clients toward success
- Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and employers alike through effective communication
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, inclusion, and empowering individuals toward independence
