Position Summary
The Medical Facilities Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across multiple medical office locations. This role supports patient care by ensuring clinical and administrative spaces meet high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
The schedule primarily includes afternoon and evening hours, with travel between sites.
Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized environment across multiple HCHC locations
Perform routine cleaning of exam rooms, waiting areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces across assigned medical locations
Disinfect high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, light switches, counters, medical equipment) in accordance with infection control standards
Clean light fixtures, handrails, elevator, and hallways, using appropriate cleaning agents like disinfectants and furniture polish.
Empty trash and biohazard waste containers and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors to ensure a clean and professional appearance
Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, gloves, and sanitizing materials
Clean, sterilize, and sanitize patient areas between use, as needed
Follow all OSHA, CDC, and HCHC safety and sanitation guidelines
Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition and report maintenance needs
Travel between designated office locations according to daily schedule
Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleans as needed
Secure facilities after cleaning when working evening hours (lock doors, turn off lights, set alarms if required)
Communicate any safety hazards, damages, or supply shortages to management
Ensure all equipment used for daily duties—including cleaning carts, buckets, mops, and dusting cloths—are properly maintained, cleaned, and inventoried.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Required Skills and Abilities
Understanding of infection control practices in a healthcare environment
Ability to safely handle and dispose of regular and biohazard waste
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective time management skills across multiple locations
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow assigned schedules
Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and supply needs
Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 30–40 pounds
Adaptability to different office layouts and cleaning needs across multiple sites

Education and Experience
Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience, ideally in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and infection control practices preferred
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards
