Job Overview:
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for and oversees the day-to-day operation of HealthTrust’s Human Resources. The position is primarily responsible to establish and maintain Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide: an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for supporting all HR functions including benefits and compensation, training and development, maintaining employee records, etc. The Human Resources Coordinator manages the recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
2. Develops, revises, interprets and administers all Human Resource policies, practices and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness throughout the organization’s policies and practices.
3. Works closely with the General Counsel to ensure compliance with all federal and state legal and regulatory issues that affect the Human Resources function, including managing the requirements of a wide range of health and safety issues that affect the organization’s staff. Serves as the organization’s investigator of discrimination and harassment complaints. Ensures personnel files and HR records are maintained in compliance with applicable legal requirements
4. Responsible for the administration of employee relations programs to foster an environment where employees are empowered assets to the organization. Advises and intervenes in difficult or sensitive employee relation matters appropriately and respectfully. Fosters and maintains open door policy to actively promote employee interaction and communication. Maintains a climate which attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality individuals.
5. Designs the performance appraisal process and timelines with input from Executive Director. Manages and oversees the implementation and operation of the performance management tools, including goal setting and trains management in the use of these. Works collaboratively with the Executive Director to develop and implement the organization’s succession planning and annual updates to the succession planning tool.
6. Benefits administration including facilitation of open enrollment activities, routine employee inquiries, enrollment processes, and monthly bill reconciliation. Oversees the day-to-day operation of the multiple-employer defined benefit pension plan which the organization administers for both participating employers, including working with
Plan actuaries to determine annual valuation, working with all participating employees regarding pension plan notices, elections, and benefit estimates.
7. Analyzes salary survey data and benchmarks jobs forming sound, market based recommendations to the Executive Director in all areas of compensation. Responsible for FLSA compliance.
8. Primary system owner of the HRIS system, ADP Workforce Now, intervenes with ADP to ensure necessary functionality, monitors developments, and trains employees in its use.
9. Verify employee data changes before payroll processing, review bi-weekly payroll transactions to ensure accuracy.
10. Responsible for the administration of all leaves of absence to include Short-Term Disability claims, FMLA claims and Worker’s Compensation claims
11. Responsible for various ongoing human resources projects and programs, including pay and compensation studies, job description review, recruitment, performance management, employee development, HR analysis and planning as needed.
12. Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Prior responsible work experience of at least seven years in the area of personnel or human resources administration also required.
