Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, high-caliber Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of daily pharmacy operations, master complex third-party billing, and act as a central leadership figure in coordinating care with our specialty pharmacy division, clinics, and neighborhood patients. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, input, and process prescriptions accurately using PrimeRx software.
- Billing Leadership: Independently resolve complex insurance rejections, prior authorizations, and third-party billing issues.
- Clinical Coordination: Work as a dedicated point of contact for external clinics, doctors, and nurses within our specialty pharmacy division.
- Inventory Ownership: Manage daily inventory levels, track drug expirations, handle return-to-stock (RTS), and optimize wholesaler ordering to minimize waste. [1, 2]
- Support patient compliance programs, including Medication Synchronization (Med Sync) scheduling. [1]
- Provide warm, professional customer service at checkout and over the phone.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Extensive retail pharmacy experience is required.
- Software: Proficiency and hands-on knowledge of Micro Merchant PrimeRx pharmacy management software is required.
- Communication: Excellent professional communication skills for coordinating care with physician offices and clinical staff.
- Teamwork: A friendly attitude and a desire to work closely with a collaborative team. [1]
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status is preferred.
- Setting: Previous experience working within an independent retail or specialty pharmacy environment.
