CRISIS SPECIALIST
Crisis Specialist Position Summary:
The Crisis Specialist is responsible for coordinating follow-ups with clients referring to treatment and developing a network of community crisis support. This is a full-time awake overnight position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.
- Carry out the Crisis Stabilization Plan developed by the treatment team.
- Carry out triage on emergency mental health calls for agency on call system.
- Provide immediate support and assessment to clients experiencing a crisis.
- Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely fashion.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field. Equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in crisis invention or mental health services
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Formal training or significant experience in crisis interventions.
- Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalating techniques.
