We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate data entry and appointment scheduling using EMR/EHR systems such as Practice Fusion
- Review and update medical records, ensuring documentation review aligns with clinical confidentiality policies
- Assist with medical billing and coding, including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding for accurate reimbursement and Medicare compliance
- Handle phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies while maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Collect payments and process insurance claims related to medical collections and health insurance procedures
- Support clinical staff with care plan documentation, health information management, and administrative support tasks
- Maintain office supplies and ensure the front desk operates smoothly to enhance patient service experience
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare privacy standards during all documentation and communication activities
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; experience with electronic health records management is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical billing procedures
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing for efficient data entry
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic or medical office experience demonstrating familiarity with healthcare administrative workflows
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone manner and attention to patient needs
- Ability to handle documentation review accurately while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies
- Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare claims submission and health information management practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in all tasks
- Serving population predominantly Russian speaking, seeking bilingual candidate
