Role Description This full-time, on-site Health and Life Insurance Agent role is based in Lexington, SC. The agent will meet with prospective and existing clients to assess their health, life, Medicare, and supplemental insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage options from a wide range of carriers. Day-to-day responsibilities include educating clients on policy features and benefits, preparing and presenting insurance quotes, assisting with applications and enrollments, and following up to ensure client satisfaction and policy retention. The agent will work closely with the HealthMarkets platform and tools to manage leads, maintain accurate client records, and stay current with product offerings and regulatory requirements. The role also involves building long-term relationships, participating in local outreach or networking activities, and collaborating with colleagues and leadership to achieve sales and service goals.
Qualifications
- Strong insurance sales skills with the ability to explain health and life insurance options clearly and support clients in making informed decisions.
- Experience in insurance brokerage or working with multiple carriers, including comfort navigating different product lines and plan structures.
- Basic finance knowledge to help clients understand premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket costs, and the financial impact of coverage choices.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, and effective communication in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Solid understanding of insurance concepts, regulations, and compliance requirements, or a willingness to learn and maintain necessary licensure.
- Current state health and life insurance license (or eligibility and commitment to obtain one within required timeframes).
- Ability to work on-site in Lexington, SC, manage a client portfolio, and meet performance and quality standards with integrity and professionalism.
- Proficiency with digital tools and CRM systems; prior experience in health, life, or Medicare markets is highly beneficial.
