Responsibilities
- Provide direct, bedside nursing care to adult patients in the PCU, including frequent vital signs assessment, neurovascular checks, and ongoing patient monitoring
- Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders; document responses and adverse effects
- Implement care plans, monitor patient progress, and escalate changes to the multidisciplinary team as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, pharmacists, and respiratory therapy to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record; ensure patient safety and adherence to protocol
- Educate patients and families on care plans, post-acute needs, pain management, and follow-up instructions
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a PCU or similar high-acuity unit
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and a 12x3 rotation
- Demonstrated capability to function effectively in a high-acuity PCU environment
