Responsibilities
- Deliver perioperative nursing care across multiple specialties (orthopedics, general, gynecology) while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Prepare the OR, assist the surgeon and anesthesia team, and manage instrumentation and equipment, including endoscopic, laser, robotics-assisted cases, and other complex surgical tools.
- Position and transport patients safely, monitor intraoperative status and vital signs, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
- Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation, counts, specimen labeling, and ensure proper room turnover between cases.
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards; communicate effectively with the surgical team and support staff.
- Demonstrate ability to handle high-acuity scenarios in a fast-paced OR environment; participate in post-operative care and handoffs as needed.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- OR and perioperative experience with orthopedic trauma and general surgery; gynecologic (GYN) experience required; neuro experience is a plus
- Robotics experience must be noted on file
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques and ability to operate complex surgical equipment
- Travel experience required; no local residents within 50 miles of the assignment location
- Vaccinations: COVID-19 vaccine booster and influenza vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed)
- Ability to pass ECG/Telemetry and Medication tests prior to acceptance; one attempt allowed; passing score 85%
- Availability for interview; manager will contact candidates to schedule
- No float requirement
