Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for obstetric patients on an LDRP unit, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and well newborn care
- Monitor fetal status, perform fetal heart monitoring interpretation, and respond per protocol to changes in condition
- Assist with cesarean deliveries in the surgical suite and stabilize/transfers for neonatal care as needed
- Administer medications, IV therapies, analgesia, and postpartum treatments following physician orders; manage patient safety and comfort
- Document care in the electronic medical record; communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team; uphold infection control and safety standards
- May float to Bakersfield as needed to cover unit needs
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license in California (active and in good standing)
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the submitted OB unit specialty within the last 3 months
- Certifications: CPR/BLS; Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP); Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM); STABLE; ACLS or RQI-ACLS or HS-ACLS
- Ability to work nights and to travel for assignment; capability to function in an LDRP obstetrics setting with postpartum and neonatal services
- Neonatal and obstetric acute care experience highly preferred
