Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care for adult patients in a Medical-Surgical unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Monitor vital signs and telemetry as indicated; administer medications, manage IV therapy, and respond to clinical changes in a timely manner.
- Document care and patient responses in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse where applicable); communicate plan of care with the care team and families.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to address patient needs and discharge planning.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, monitor for symptoms, and implement infection control and safety protocols; float to other units as needed per staffing.
- Recognize and escalate emergencies; participate in ongoing quality improvement activities and adhere to unit standards of care.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license; license must be uploaded with profile
- Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency (Nursing Pool) license required to be uploaded with traveler profile
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS required; Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of current Medical-Surgical experience; Telemetry experience required; Willingness to float
- Education: RN prepared through an approved program
- Travel requirements: Traveler must have own vehicle
- Profile must include: Supervisory Signed Reference (within past two years)
- Profile must include: Massachusetts RN license and all required certifications documents (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Dysrhythmia)
