Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the Med Surg unit, including monitoring of acute and post-acute conditions
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments; document findings and update care plans
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; monitor effectiveness and adverse effects
- Monitor telemetry, interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to alarms, and escalate as needed
- Collaborate with the health care team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education
- Support unit operations as assigned, with potential responsibilities as charge nurse, preceptor, or committee member
Requirements
- Active New York RN license (NY license only) required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and participate in on-call/holidays as needed
