Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients during night shifts.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments per physician orders, and perform ongoing assessments.
- Manage IV therapy, wound care, pain control, and respond to changes in patient condition or emergencies.
- Document care accurately in patient records; communicate changes to the care team.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to ensure safe planning, handoffs, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and post-discharge instructions.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proof of negative TB screen within 12 months of contract start date
- Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week and maintain night shift readiness
- Commitment to safe, high-quality patient care in a Med/Surg setting
