Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for step-down unit patients, including STEMI/NSTEMI management, CP rule-out, CHF care, noninvasive ventilation, and post-cardiothoracic surgery after ICU care
• Administer IV antiarrhythmic medications and monitor for arrhythmias, hemodynamic changes, and vascular compromise; respond to changes in patient status with appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, ICU, ER) to develop and adjust care plans, document assessments, and ensure timely progression of patient care
• Monitor vital signs, continuous telemetry where required, and implement orders per physician and hospital protocol
• Float to Med/Surg or ER to cover CVCU/Med Surg holds as needed, adhering to unit policies and scope of practice
• Maintain infection control practices, patient safety, and accurate charting in compliance with regulatory standards
  
  

Requirements

• Oklahoma RN license (active) or eligible for licensure in Oklahoma
• Minimum 2 years of SDU/step-down nursing experience
• Ability to float to Med/Surg or ER to cover CVCU/Med Surg holds
• Certifications: ACLS and NIHSS required
• Willingness to work in a high-acuity step-down setting and to follow unit-specific protocols
• Evening/morning schedule flexibility and capacity to work 3x12-hour day shifts; weekend coverage as described
