- Orientation: 16 hours
- Location: Rochester, NY
- Provide postoperative care in PACU for patients recovering from general, endo/laparoscopic, ortho/spine/total joint procedures; monitor airway, breathing, circulation, pain, and recovery status
- Conduct post-anesthesia assessments, manage PCA and analgesia as appropriate, and implement care plans in collaboration with anesthesia and surgical teams
- Administer medications per protocol, monitor for adverse reactions, and ensure patient safety during recovery transitions from PACU to appropriate units
- Document accurately in EPIC, including assessments, interventions, discharge instructions, and patient education
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams (IV teams, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transport, Unit Secretary) and participate in unit protocols and quality processes
- Maintain unit operations within block scheduling, participate in call coverage (weeknights and weekends, up to 4 call shifts per month), and float as needed within PACU
- Current NY RN license in-hand to submit
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- EPIC charting experience required
- Phlebotomy and IV insertion competency
- Must live more than 75 miles from the facility; candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
