Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult oncology patients on an inpatient unit, administering medications and treatments as ordered
• Manage IV therapies, including IV antibiotics, anticoagulant infusions, and central line care and maintenance; perform IV starts as needed
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy/biotherapy per orders; respond to treatment-related reactions and support symptom management
• Conduct telemetry monitoring (no monitor technicians) and promptly escalate changes in patient status to the multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR (EPIC) and participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and patient/family education on treatment plans and adverse effects
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other disciplines to ensure safe, evidence-based cancer care and adherence to safety and infection-control protocols
  
  

Requirements

• Active RN license to practice as required for the state; current, unrestricted licensure expected
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• EPIC experience with documentation within the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable
• Prior travel nursing experience required; oncology/chemotherapy experience preferred
• Experience caring for cancer patients with symptomatic needs; large teaching facility experience preferred
• Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification preferred; strong IV and central line skills required
• Orientation: next available date May 4; bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
• Reliable transportation is strongly recommended; public transportation is not available in the area
