Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a surgical department with occasional medical overlap to support bed availability
• Monitor patient conditions, perform assessments, plan and implement care, and document in the charting system
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital policies
• Collaborate with the shift supervisor, patient care techs, and multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and timely interventions
• Perform accurate handoffs during shift changes and participate in daily rounds as needed
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as part of the care team
  
  

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license; appropriate licensure to practice on assignment in Illinois
• Ability to work nights on a Med Surg/surgical floor with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Experience on a surgical/emergency-adjacent Med Surg unit is preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliable documentation and patient advocacy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with bed management considerations
• Basic computer/documentation proficiency and adherence to safety and infection control protocols
