Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group according to established standards of care and the nursing process
• Supervise and direct activities of the nursing staff at various levels; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making
• Collect relevant data, assess health status, analyze findings, and develop a plan with interventions to achieve outcomes
• Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and apply strategies to promote health and a safe, healing environment
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes; identify care outcomes for the patient or situation; collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care; delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the healthcare team; provide education to patients and families
  
  

Requirements

• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (Oregon) required
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
• Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; acute care facility experience preferred
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ability to work in a hospital/acute care setting; ICU experience is implied by the specialty
