- Orientation week may affect guaranteed hours; first-week hours are not guaranteed if orientation starts on a Tuesday
- Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on established nursing practice standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care; serve as a resource when needed
- Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in care delivery; educate patients and families
- Administer medications, interpret diagnostic tests, provide patient/family education, and document actions
- Maintain basic EKG skills and other essential nursing skills; supervise unit secretaries and PCTs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
- Document care activities and ensure continuity of care across the care continuum
- Licensure: Current Alaska Registered Professional Nurse license in good standing
- Education: Completion of an NLN-approved nursing program
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience: Preferred one year of health care experience as a registered nurse
- Additional requirements: Must be able to practice nursing per Alaska nursing regulations; strong verbal and written communication; flexible with work schedule; able to work in a patient care setting
- Licensing/competencies: Must pass and maintain position-specific competencies
- Additional notes from the assignment: Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination required
