Responsibilities

• Perform initial PT evaluations for inpatient adults and develop individualized treatment plans aimed at mobility, function, and discharge goals
• Deliver evidence-based interventions (e.g., therapeutic exercise, gait training, ROM, strength, balance, functional mobility, ADL training) and progress patients toward measurable outcomes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care, set goals, and plan safe and timely discharges
• Document assessments, treatment plans, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries in the medical record according to facility and regulatory standards
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and equipment use; modify plans as needed based on progress and tolerance
• Participate in rounds and contribute to discharge planning, ensuring smooth transitions to next levels of care
  
  

Requirements

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required; only if license was obtained after January 2016, or foreign equivalent
• Physical Therapy licensure in all applicable states of practice required
• CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS/HS-BLS/RQIBLS) from an approved vendor per AH policy required
• Valid Driver’s License and must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to practice in an inpatient hospital setting with travel requirements as part of a temporary assignment
