Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Administer medications and injections, including IV infusions, with strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
- Assist with clinical procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage acute pain cases and participate in pain management strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Conduct triage assessments via telehealth or in-person visits to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways.
- Support specialized care areas including geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, pediatric care, and assisted living environments.
- Document all patient interactions accurately while complying with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Need BLS
- Experience working with electronic health records systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medication administration, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and sterile processing techniques.
- Prior experience in diverse clinical settings including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, or home care environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and documentation.
- Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and vital signs measurement accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across specialties such as internal medicine, emergency medicine, critical care (ICU), trauma centers, pediatrics, geriatrics, and occupational health.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
