Position Overview:
Associated Builders and Contractors, NM Chapter is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Licensed Electrical Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a skilled electrician who is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of trades professionals.
Schedule:
Approximately **5 hours per week, evening classes are 2 1/2 hours twice a week.
2 semesters per year, Fall and Spring, approximately 14 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in electrical theory and practical applications
- Prepare lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and industry requirements
- Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures
- Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and practical evaluations
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students pursuing careers in the electrical trade
- Maintain a safe and organized learning environment
Qualifications:
- Current Electrical License (Journeyman EE-98)
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred (but not required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
