Healthcare Research Network is an elite Clinical Research Site Network comprised of private physicians from multiple specialties that conduct clinical research studies.
Our office is currently looking for a Medical Assistant who will be required to assist with the daily operations of clinical drug trials under the guidance of the trial’s Principal Investigator and Research Coordinators. The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the Research Coordinator with study related procedures.
Position Type: Part-time, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room, verifying medical histories, current medications, and take vital signs.
- Prepares, cleans, stocks and maintains exam rooms daily.
- File study related documents
- Prepare patient charts and patient paperwork for visits.
- Performs all technical functions: phlebotomy, ECG, vital signs and other clinical tasks
- Data Entry
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to assist in a variety of common office procedures.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
- Ability to work with electric medical record technology as a primary means documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to take vital signs and perform ECG's.
- Ability to perform Phlebotomy.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, co-workers and the public.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or GED.
- One year medical experience in a physician’s office or research office or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred; will train a highly-motivated new graduate of a Medical Assisting program.
- Experience in Phlebotomy is preferred or must be willing to be trained.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
