JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems - Assists Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition
- Assists in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines
- Complete PMs. Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment and document the work done without direct supervision
- Monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed
- Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation
- Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery
- Able to apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility
- Always complies with company policies and procedures
- Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day
- Operate forklift to unload and load trucks.
- Other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.
Qualifications/Requirements - Minimum 3 years of experience is required
- Punctuality and reliability is a must.
- Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
- Ability to solve problems independently.
- High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 2ndt Class B Boilers Operator License preferred.
Physical Demands - Continual standing and walking during shift.
- Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
Schedule - 8 hour shift
