Seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support core infrastructure, server operations, and architecture stabilization efforts within a complex healthcare environment.
Location: Sheridan, WY (onsite initially, remote flexibility thereafter)
Duration: 6-month contract plus extension
This resource will serve as a hands-on technical contributor responsible for supporting and optimizing the organization’s virtual and physical server environment, domain management, and overall infrastructure operations.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating independently, partnering closely with internal IT leadership, and serving as a key “boots on the ground” resource during the initial engagement period. This role will require onsite presence upfront to gain familiarity with the environment and architecture, with the potential for a hybrid or remote model thereafter.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support physical and virtual server infrastructure
- Administer Windows Server environments and Active Directory/domain services
- Support VMware or comparable virtualization platforms
- Assist with infrastructure architecture assessment, documentation, and stabilization efforts
- Perform server maintenance, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, server, storage, and networking issues
- Partner with internal IT staff to understand current-state architecture and operational gaps
- Assist with infrastructure planning, optimization, and operational best practices
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring processes
- Collaborate with vendors and managed service providers as needed
- Maintain technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials
- 5 years of Systems Administration experience in enterprise environments
- Strong experience with:
- Windows Server administration
- Active Directory and domain management
- VMware or equivalent virtualization technologies
- Physical and virtual infrastructure support
- Server lifecycle management
- Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and server-related issues independently
