Role Overview: Provides direct support to individuals with disabilities by teaching and modeling activities of daily living (ADL), offering psychoeducation on recovery topics, and facilitating community-based activities such as medical appointments and socialization.
Key Responsibilities: Monitors and provides therapeutic feedback on ADL skills, teaches psychoeducational classes, assists with transportation and personal care, administers First Aid/CPR, supervises medication, and documents care activities.
Ensures a safe, therapeutic environment through behavior management and de-escalation techniques. Acts as a community ambassador, collaborates with external systems, and supports discharge planning and staff training.
Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or equivalent, zero to one year of relevant experience, strong communication, patience, empathy, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with individuals with diverse needs.
Physical Demands: Physical exertion involved, including lifting up to 100 pounds and frequent movement.
All staff are expected to demonstrate leadership, adhere to safety policies, and support quality improvement initiatives.
