Role: Medical Laboratory Scientist responsible for receiving, preparing, and performing laboratory tests on specimens to support diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct routine and specialized testing independently, interpret results, perform quality control, calibrate and maintain equipment, and ensure regulatory compliance. Maintain patient confidentiality, participate in performance improvement, manage supply inventories, and adapt communication based on patient needs.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related sciences, current state license, and appropriate certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or AAB). No prior work experience required.
Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in computer applications, effective communication, analytical problem-solving, good judgment, and interpersonal skills. Must handle physical demands, including standing, bending, and working with potentially hazardous materials.
Physical & Environmental Demands: Heavy physical activity, exposure to biological hazards, and ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays. Must work in environments with potential exposure to infectious agents and hazardous waste.
