Are You E.P.I.C?!

Do you bring Empathy, Passion, Integrity, and Commitment to everything you do? If you love helping people, providing great customer service, building relationships, and staying organized, you may be exactly who we’re looking for!

At Health System Services, we’re passionate about healthcare and the people we serve. As a Care Coordinator – Retail, you’ll play an important role in helping patients find the medical equipment they need to support their health and well-being. You’ll be a welcoming face in our retail location, answering questions, demonstrating equipment, coordinating orders, and helping patients navigate insurance coverage. From assisting customers in person to working behind the scenes, you’ll help create a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

What You’ll Do

  • Make a Great First Impression: Welcome customers into our retail location, answer questions, and help them find the durable medical equipment (DME) and supplies that best meet their needs.

  • Be a Resource: Demonstrate medical equipment, educate patients on proper use and basic troubleshooting, and help them feel confident using their equipment.

  • Find the Right Fit: Measure and fit patients for durable medical equipment to help ensure proper sizing and fit.

  • Navigate Insurance: Verify patient insurance information and benefits, review prescriptions, and understand insurance coverage criteria and documentation requirements.

  • Keep Things Moving: Answer incoming phone calls, respond to emails, and follow up with patients to ensure their questions and needs are addressed.

  • Build Lasting Relationships: Maintain positive relationships with patients by supporting ongoing equipment needs, resupply requests, and repeat services.

  • Support Sales: Provide product knowledge and customer service guidance for equipment purchases, including items paid for out of pocket, and process retail sales accurately.

  • Stay on Top of the Details: Enter patient information and orders into electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other electronic ordering platforms while maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Connect the Dots: Communicate with physicians, hospitals, and other referral sources regarding prescriptions, orders, and medical equipment needs.

  • Work as a Team: Collaborate with teammates across departments to support quality patient care, accurate documentation, and appropriate insurance reimbursement.

  • Deliver E.P.I.C. Service: Bring empathy, passion, integrity, and commitment to every interaction with patients, customers, healthcare professionals, and teammates.

What You Bring

  • A People-First Attitude: You’re friendly, approachable, professional, and genuinely enjoy helping others.

  • A Customer Service Mindset: You enjoy working with people, answering questions, and creating a positive experience for every customer.

  • Organization Skills: You can manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and keep track of important details.

  • Communication & Empathy: You communicate clearly and professionally and know how to make patients feel welcomed, heard, and supported.

  • Attention to Detail: You’re comfortable reviewing information, entering data, and ensuring orders and patient records are accurate.

  • A “Let’s Figure It Out” Mindset: You’re resourceful, adaptable, and willing to learn new products, systems, and processes.

  • Team Spirit: You enjoy collaborating with others and understand that great patient care takes a team.

  • Sales & Product Knowledge: You’re comfortable explaining products, answering questions, and helping customers understand their equipment options.

  • Healthcare or Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in retail, customer service, healthcare, or durable medical equipment (DME) is a plus.

  • Technology Skills: You’re comfortable using computers and learning electronic record systems and other digital tools.

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required. A two-year college degree is preferred.
