Summary/Objective
The Training and Response Coordinator serves as a key support role in the Healthcare Coalition. This position is responsible for assisting with the execution of program deliverables, supporting coalition operations, and ensuring strong member participation by coordinating training, exercises, and member meetings.
Working under the direction of the Director of Planning, the Training and Response Coordinator helps advance the mission of the Southwest Florida Healthcare Coalition by supporting emergency preparedness initiatives, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing member preparedness across the region.
Essential Functions
Coordinate preparedness and response activities for Coalition members in Southwest Florida. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Major Responsibilities & Duties:
- Support program management of the Healthcare Coalition
- Assist in the development, completion, and submission of deliverables, including, but not limited to, completion of contract deliverables such as plans and reporting.
- Coordinate logistics for coalition training, exercises, meetings, and events.
- Participate in marketing, outreach, and other communication efforts for the Healthcare Coalition
- Maintain and regularly update membership databases and contact lists.
- Maintains client confidentiality and security in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Attend healthcare coalition meetings, events, and activities.
- Assess members’ needs and communicate feedback to leadership for service improvement.
- Partnership with local, state, and federal entities including other healthcare coalitions.
Other projects assigned by the Director of Planning and/or the Executive Council of the Southwest Florida Healthcare Coalition
Skills and Qualifications:
· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
· Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems
· Ability to learn and use new software tools.
· Ability to collect, organize and evaluate data, and to develop logical conclusions, reports, and presentations.
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
· Quick thinking and ability to learn on the job.
· Knowledge of emergency preparedness and response, healthcare systems, and / or public health (strongly preferred)
Minor Responsibilities & Duties:
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies and procedures.
· Ensure compliance with statewide program rules and regulations.
· Communicate with immediate supervisor on a consistent basis.
· Added tasks as assigned by supervisor or leadership of Southwest Florida Healthcare Coalition.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, although travel outside of the office is necessary. This position may be partially or primarily remote although candidate must be based in Southwest Florida. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with some deviations per work requirements and schedule accommodations, particularly in the event of an emergency situation. The Coordinator may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
Travel
Ability to travel within the state is required. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred. Extensive equivalent experience may be considered.
· 1–3 years of experience in emergency management, healthcare coalition work, or medical services preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
· Knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness, planning, public health planning, and/or program management are preferred. This position will be focused on working with the Healthcare Coalition in Southwest Florida.
Additional Qualifications/Requirements
· Reading and writing proficiency in English
· Valid Driver License and Auto Insurance.
· Reliable personal vehicle to be used for business travel.
