Health Mutt is looking for an experienced dog handler to become our dedicated Nail Trim Specialist on Sundays.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced groomer or other highly experienced dog handler who wants a consistent extra day of work without taking on a full grooming schedule.
What You’ll Do
You’ll primarily handle walk-in dog nail trims and nail grinding throughout your shift.
Our nail trim customers range from easy regulars to dogs who are nervous about having their feet handled, so we’re looking for someone who is calm, confident and genuinely skilled at working with dogs.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has significant professional experience handling dogs
- Is confident performing nail trims and using a nail grinder
- Can safely and compassionately handle nervous, wiggly and difficult dogs
- Understands canine body language and knows when a dog needs a different approach
- Can work efficiently while still prioritizing the dog’s comfort and safety
- Is dependable, friendly and comfortable interacting with customers
- Enjoys a busy, hands-on environment
We’re specifically looking for someone who would love a consistent one-day-per-week position focused on nail care.
Pay & Schedule
$25/hour tips
One consistent day per week
This could be an especially good fit for an experienced groomer looking to pick up an additional day, someone who has stepped away from full-time grooming but still loves working with dogs, or an experienced animal-care professional looking for supplemental income.
About Health Mutt
Health Mutt is an independent neighborhood pet store, grooming salon and self-wash in Seminole Heights. We’re a busy, established business with a large base of regular customers and their dogs.
