Health Ministries Clinic (HMC) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our Laboratory team in Newton, Kansas. This full-time role is an opportunity to work in a mission-driven clinic providing high-quality laboratory services that directly support patient care in our community.
What You'll Do
- Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures
- Process and prepare specimens for in-house testing and reference laboratory send-outs
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments
- Accurately document and report laboratory results in the electronic health record
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and clinic policies and procedures
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate results
- Maintain quality control standards and participate in quality assurance activities
- An Associates or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related laboratory science field
- Certification as MLT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) preferred or eligible
- Previous laboratory experience preferred; particularly in a clinical or outpatient setting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality patient care
