- Assessing call situations to determine optimal action plans following progressive protocols.
- Applying skills with medical equipment such as defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction devices, and IV therapy to deliver advanced care.
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families to provide reassurance and information.
- Leading scene and unit management as a team leader when required.
- Driving ambulances during emergency responses.
- Collaborating professionally with healthcare and public safety personnel.
- Participating in community programs to promote positive relations and uphold the organization’s image.
- High school diploma or GED
- State Paramedic License
- Trauma certification (e.g., PHTLS)
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- BLS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic certifications
- Ability to pass physical agility tests and relevant work experience, preferably in healthcare
