Job Title: Director of Quality Assurance 
Department: Operations 
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) 
  

Position Summary 

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring firm-wide compliance with established QAQC protocols, overseeing the stamping process, and driving continuous improvement in project delivery. This role also serves as a Senior Project Manager for HFG’s most technically complex and challenging projects—typically in the healthcare sector—requiring deep architectural expertise and a thorough understanding of clinical environments and regulatory standards. The Director works closely with the Director of Operations and serves as a key mentor to project managers, helping align teams around consistent operational procedures and best practices. This is a highly influential role with no direct reports but broad organizational impact. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the firm’s QAQC standards across all projects. 

  • Conduct drawing reviews and coordinate quality assurance checkpoints to ensure consistency and technical accuracy. 

  • Maintain QAQC documentation and continuous improvement feedback loops. 

  • Stamping & Technical Oversight 

  • Manage the firm’s stamping process and ensure drawings are properly reviewed and sealed in accordance with state requirements. 

  • Serve as a licensed architect responsible for stamping final drawings. 

  • Senior Project Management – Special Projects 

  • Serve as the lead Project Manager for HFG’s most complex and technically demanding projects, particularly in healthcare architecture. 

  • Provide oversight and leadership on specialty or mission-critical projects that require advanced coordination, code compliance, and clinical functionality. 

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects meet the highest standards of performance, documentation, and design excellence. 

  • Project Manager Development & Mentorship 

  • Mentor and coach project managers on QAQC practices, operational consistency, and client-focused delivery. 

  • Facilitate project manager onboarding, technical training, and skills development initiatives. 

  • Contract Review 

  • Assist in contract review and interpretation with a focus on aligning scope with quality and technical expectations. 

  • Develop company standard template proposal and contract forms in coordination with managing principals.  

  • Operational Alignment & Reporting 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to support consistency in procedures, documentation standards, and project delivery tools. 

  • Report directly to the COO and serve as a key advisor on operational and technical decision-making.
