What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-Career Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon position at Health eCareers?
Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of MIGS at Massachusetts General Hospital, Mass General Brigham, Harvard Medical School seeks a full-time, mid-career, academic fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon to start as soon as fall of 2026. This position offers the opportunity to serve as the MIGS Medical Director at MGH for a qualified candidate.
The division strives to deliver outstanding medical and surgical care to patients with complex benign gynecologic conditions, while also advancing the field through innovative surgical care, teaching, research, and leadership within our system and beyond. Our high-volume surgical practice focuses on complex laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures for fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic pain and adnexal masses. We provide comprehensive and consultative surgical care on the main campus in Boston and at our ambulatory surgical centers in the greater Boston area. Our division is partnered with the Brigham and Women's Hospital Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and the Center for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, allowing opportunities to collaborate on patient care, share in the surgical training of MIGS fellows, and participate in joint research.
The position includes responsibilities for clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity. Candidates will be expected to devote their time to the surgical and non-surgical treatment of complex and simple gynecologic disorders, with a focus on minimally invasive procedures. Additional responsibilities include sharing coverage of the resident gynecology inpatient and consult service, and serving as faculty for BWH and NWH MIGS fellowship and Integrated Residency in Ob/Gyn shared by MGH and BWH. An interest in clinical or translational research is encouraged. Other qualifications include board certification or eligibility in Ob/Gyn and completion of an AAGL-accredited MIGS fellowship. Academic rank at HMS and salary will be commensurate with training, academic level and experience. Academic qualifications should be that of Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor at HMS.
