Interventional Cardiologist – Academic Appointment

The Department of Cardiology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing academic faculty. This position combines a busy clinical practice with the opportunity to teach, mentor, and contribute to academic medicine in a collaborative environment.

Clinical Responsibilities Include

• Outpatient clinic, including outreach
• Attending on the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) service and/or consult service
• Participation in the STEMI call schedule
• Performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab
  
  

Academic & Teaching Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor interventional and cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students
• Serve as one of the core faculty for the interventional cardiology fellowship program
• Contribute to ongoing clinical research and scholarly work
• Support the growth of the interventional cardiology program within an academic setting
  
  

Qualifications

• MD/DO or related degree with board certification or board eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease
• Formal training in Interventional Cardiology through an accredited fellowship program
• Board certification/eligibility in Interventional Cardiology
• Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment.
• Leadership qualities and assets are highly valued.
• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Passion for providing high-quality care to patients and advancing the field of cardiology.
• Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents, cardiology fellows, and other healthcare providers.
• Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in the state of New York.
