We are currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist with training in peripheral vascular interventions to join our cardiovascular practice in Rapid City, South Dakota. Complex Coronary Intervention
- Strong training and/or clinical experience treating coronary artery disease with advanced percutaneous coronary intervention techniques
- Peripheral Vascular fellowship training and/or clinical experience. Eligibility for RPVI certification and experience with endovenous ablation would also be desirable, but is not required
- Duties are divided equally amongst the Interventional Cardiologists, including Interventional and Vascular Interventional call. With the exception of one weekend day when on the Inpatient Rotation, the Interventional cardiologists do not take General Cardiology Call
- In-house nocturnal APP support for night call coverage
- Approximate weeknight call coverage is 1 in 5 with week-long inpatient rotation approximately 1 in 8 weeks
- Alternating 2-physician day-call/rounds coverage during inpatient rotation with robust inpatient APP support
- Dedicated read days for interpreting inpatient and outpatient cardiac studies
- Minimum expected daily clinic volume once fully integrated is 16 patients per day
- 6 Non-interventional Cardiologists (7th starting July 2026)
- 4 Interventional Cardiologists, including 2 Fellowship-trained Peripheral Vascular Interventionalists
- 1 Structural Heart Interventionalist
- 2 Electrophysiologists (3rd starting July 2026)
- 2 Cardiothoracic Surgeons
- 1 Vascular Surgeon
- 1 Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologist
- Highly experienced and dedicated team of over 25 dedicated advanced practitioners to assist with both inpatient and outpatient management of patients, including nocturnal inpatient support
- Serves a five-state region with a catchment area of 428,000
- Newly constructed 4-story facility located on the campus of Monument Health’s Rapid City Hospital, a Level II trauma center with over 400 beds and $220 million in recent renovations
- Expansive outreach program to surrounding communities with 7 established outreach sites
- Comprehensive cardiovascular services lines that include interventional, structural, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, vascular medicine, vascular, thoracic and cardiothoracic surgery.
- Dedicated Structural heart program offering transcatheter aortic valve replacement, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, MitraClip, TriClip and transcatheter mitral valve implantation
- Annual volumes:
- 500 Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery
- 3,200 Cath Lab Procedures
- Including >300 Structural Heart Interventions
- 11,000 EP Lab Procedures
- 600 Ablation
- 2 fully functional hybrid suits, 2 dedicated Cath labs, 2 EP labs, vascular hybrid OR (in construction)
- Comprehensive Cardiovascular Quality Assessment/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) Program with active registry participation.
