Role Overview: The Echo Sonographer performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams to identify abnormalities and support patient diagnosis, under physician supervision.
Key Responsibilities: Conducts ultrasound procedures evaluating internal organs and vessels, prepares exam rooms, obtains patient history, explains procedures, assesses patient needs, reviews and ensures quality of images, and documents findings accurately. Maintains equipment safety, monitors supplies, transports patients, and participates in quality initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a high school diploma, RDCS or RCS certification (or obtained within 18 months), and healthcare provider life support certification. Preferred: associate degree and one year ultrasound experience. Must have manual dexterity, strong communication skills, physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment, and ability to stand for extended periods.
Work Environment: Located at a hospital and cardiology clinic, serving adult, pediatric, and structural heart patients, with a full-time schedule.
