Veterinary Assistant/Technician – Mobile Veterinary Practice (Part-Time)
Growing mobile veterinary practice serving the greater Cary area is seeking a dependable, compassionate veterinary assistant to join a small, close-knit team.
This position is ideal for someone looking for a calmer, more personal alternative to traditional clinic or emergency practice. Mobile veterinary medicine is very different from hospital medicine, so flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to work closely with clients in their homes are essential.

Position Details

- Part-time (2–3 days per week)
- Approximately 8:15 AM–4:15 PM (hours may vary based on the schedule)
- Starting at $18/hour (based on experience)
- Opportunity for additional hours as the practice grows

Responsibilities
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
- Drive the veterinarian between house call appointments
- Assist with patient restraint and handling
- Perform venipuncture, administer injections, and give subcutaneous fluids
- Assist with diagnostics, treatments, medication administration, and patient care
- Set up and clean up before and after appointments
- Carry and organize medical equipment and supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and inventory
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients
- Help create a calm, low-stress experience for pets and their families
- Follow the veterinarian's direction during appointments
- Assist with appointment follow-up, client communication, marketing, and occasional administrative tasks

Qualifications
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Previous veterinary assistant experience required
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
- Confident with basic veterinary assistant skills, including restraint and venipuncture
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Comfortable working in a mobile setting and adapting throughout the day
- Able to lift and carry veterinary equipment and supplies
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Reliability is extremely important. Because we are traveling to clients' homes throughout the day, arriving on time and maintaining a consistent schedule is essential.
