About the position:

The company is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift to join its manufacturing team in Le Roy, New York.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations on the assigned shift to ensure safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved. This role will lead, coach, and support hourly production employees while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.


The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production setting. This position requires a practical, shopfloor-oriented leader who can support daily execution, solve operational issues, and help maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.


Key Accountabilities:


• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production personnel during the assigned 2nd shift.


• Ensure production targets are met in line with safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and efficiency expectations.


• Monitor production schedules, workflow, staffing levels, and resource allocation to support smooth operational execution.


• Provide clear direction, coaching, training, and performance feedback to hourly production employees.


• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring that safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies are consistently followed.


• Promptly address safety concerns, support incident investigations, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.


• Maintain product and process quality standards by working closely with Quality Assurance and

production teams.


• Support the resolution of quality issues, process deviations, downtime, bottlenecks, and other

operational challenges.


• Administer attendance, performance feedback, and corrective actions in cooperation with Human Resources and plant leadership.


• Promote a clean, organized, and efficient production environment using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.


• Track production metrics, complete required reports, and communicate updates during shift handovers and operational meetings.


• Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and other departments to improve workflow and solve production issues.


• Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, waste reduction, and operational efficiency.


Required Qualifications:


• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.


• Experience in a supervisory, team lead, shift lead, or similar front-line leadership role.


• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, safety requirements, and quality standards.


• Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop individuals and teams in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to make practical decisions, manage priorities, and respond effectively to changing production needs.


• Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor and maintaining a visible leadership presence.


• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.


• Willingness to work the assigned 2nd shift schedule.


Preferred Qualifications:


• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, operations, or manufacturing-related field.


• Experience in industrial manufacturing, technical manufacturing, ceramics, electrical components, heavy manufacturing, or a related production environment.


• Experience working with ERP systems or production reporting tools.


• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, or similar operational excellence principles.


• Experience cooperating with HR on attendance, performance management, corrective actions, and employee development.


Physical Requirements:


• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the production area during the shift.


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required.


• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with regular shopfloor presence.


• Ability to use required personal protective equipment in designated production areas.


Work Environment:


This position operates in a production plant environment with frequent interaction on the manufacturing floor. The role requires regular presence in the production area and close cooperation with production employees, maintenance, quality, engineering, and other plant functions. Personal protective equipment is required in designated areas.


Compensation:

The expected annual base salary range for this position is USD 70,000 – 105,000 gross per year, depending on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
