Assistant Teacher
Ottawa, Ohio
Develop, coordinate and maintain a comprehensive education program at the classroom level in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Ohio Day Care Licensing, and Agency policies and procedures in partnership with Lead Teachers, Class Aides, Site Supervisors, and Head Start team members. This position is Full-Time, working 37.5 hours/week. The wage scale is $15.91 to 19.56/hour, depending on experience and education.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Overall Requirement: Must be sensitive to the needs of low-income individuals and able to work with individuals of all cultural backgrounds and ages. Must adhere to values of the HHWP CAC including Advocacy, Professionalism, and Partnership. Must be committed to the Agency’s mission to reduce the conditions of poverty by providing comprehensive services to improve lives.
Minimum Education: GED or High School diploma and must obtain a Child Development Credential (CDA) within two years of hire at the expense of the program.
Minimum Experience: One year working within a preschool environment.
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, maintain state minimum amount of automobile liability insurance as well as the ability to meet and maintain all funding source requirements. This position will be required to use a personal vehicle or have reliable transportation in order to serve all service areas on a daily basis.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally.
