As an Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside Lead Teachers to provide high-quality care, support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, and help create a classroom where every child feels valued and successful.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom routines and educational activities.
• Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and families.
• Provide attentive supervision to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child.
• Support children's learning through play-based, hands-on experiences.
• Encourage children's independence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and daily cleaning responsibilities.
• Help maintain an inviting, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Follow all Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY) licensing regulations and Step Up To Quality standards.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other daily care routines while maintaining children's dignity and independence.
• Observe and communicate children's progress and developmental milestones with the Lead Teacher.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers to create a positive, supportive team environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
• Must meet all Ohio Department of Children and Youth employment requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
