What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper II position at Head Start of Rockland, Inc.?
Bookkeeper II is responsible for assisting with various bookkeeping tasks, including but not limited to, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries & audits. Also responsible for other tasks and projects that may arise in the fiscal department.
- Perform tasks accurately and timely
- Ensure timely follow ups on outstanding issues
- Payroll process including wages, deductions, allocations, etc.
- A/R or billing – invoicing contract agencies and follow-up of payment
- Bank reconciliations – perform regularly and follow-up on outstanding items.
- Deposits – process deposits of cash and checks according to policy.
- Journal entries – record as necessary
- Audits – assist in providing documentation to auditors as requested
- Documentation of procedures
- Complete weekly and monthly tasks on a timely basis (i.e. bank reconciliation, DOL census data, payroll inputs, reconciliation of payroll report, Pension inputs, CACFP, etc.)
- Documentation of procedures
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
2 or more years of experience as a bookkeeper or other relevant accounting position
Minimum requirement AA in Accounting, Business or related field
Must be proficient in Excel
Experience in Fund E-Z a plus
Appx 26 paid holidays per school year, PTO, Benefits and Pension plan. This is a 10 month position (September - June) with limited and flexible summer hours.

Pay: $18.66 - $22.00 per hour
