Primary Responsibilities
HDR's Rail and Transit Engineer will: serve as a project manager or task leader for rail and transit projects of various sizes and complexity, from site feasibility analysis to final design, including construction phase; serve in a technical role, preparing detailed engineering designs for railway infrastructure, as well as track alignments and special track work, in accordance with quality objectives and regulations, laws, and standards; evaluate technical alternatives, resolving technical issues and interfacing with other disciplines; prepare cost estimates; prepare and review scopes, budgets and schedules; write reports and technical memorandums; coordinate with subconsultants to keep projects on schedule and within budget; manage day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client; implement project quality plans; and oversee the work of junior engineers, engineers-in-training, and technical staff.

Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline and 4 years’ experience in transit engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure (from any US jurisdiction).
- Required experience must include experience in: railway geometric design, InRoads, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
- NOTE: All HDR positions in the US may be subject to background checks and/or pre-employment drug testing.
