Detailed Job Description:

We are seeking a SQL Developer with strong database migration and data processing expertise to support a large-scale Sybase to SQL Server migration program. The role will focus on schema conversion, stored procedure remediation, query optimization, and data validation to ensure a secure, accurate, and high-performance migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and convert database objects (schemas, tables, stored procedures, triggers) from Sybase to SQL Server
• Refactor and optimize existing SQL logic to align with SQL Server (T-SQL)
• Develop and enhance complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views
• Perform query tuning and performance optimization using indexing and execution plan analysis
• Design and execute data validation and reconciliation scripts to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Support large-scale data migration activities, including data extraction, transformation, and loading validation
• Collaborate with ETL teams (Informatica) and application teams for seamless data flow and DB integration
• Assist in testing phases (SIT, UAT, E2E) including defect analysis and resolution
• Troubleshoot and resolve data, performance, and migration-related issues during cutover and post-go-live
• Document database changes, migration logic, and dependencies in line with audit and compliance requirements

Must have skills:

• Strong expertise in SQL (SQL Server T-SQL)
• Hands-on with Stored procedures, triggers, views
• Experience in Query tuning and performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and relational databases
• Experience with large-scale data processing & validation

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in database migration / modernization projects
• Experience with Informatica ETL tools
• Knowledge of Power BI / reporting queries optimization
• Scripting knowledge (Unix/Linux / Python)
• Financial services domain experience

Experience level: 6 to 8 years

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $95000/Annual

Pay Range Maximum: $151000 / Annual

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
