What are the responsibilities and job description for the AI Consulting- Wisconsin/Indianapolis position at HCLTech?
Role Overview
The AI Sherpa guides enterprise clients through their Physical AI and Agentic transformation journey as a trusted advisor, evangelist, and hands-on implementation partner. You bridge the gap between emerging Physical AI capabilities — spanning robotics, computer vision, edge AI, digital twins, and autonomous Agentic workflows systems — and real-world operational outcomes. You walk the terrain with the client: discovering friction points, co-designing interventions, and shepherding solutions from concept to measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Evangelism Serve as the embedded AI thought leader for assigned accounts. Conduct discovery workshops and readiness assessments to surface high-value intervention points across physical operations. Translate complex use cases concepts into compelling, outcome-oriented narratives for executive and operational audiences.
- Use Case Identification & Intervention Design Lead structured discovery sessions with operational teams and SMEs to uncover Physical AI and Agentic Workflows opportunities. Map pain points to concrete use cases — computer vision, sensor-integrated ML, autonomous dispatch, predictive maintenance, edge inference — and prioritize them using a Value-Feasibility-Risk framework.
- Solution Architecture & Implementation Act as lead solutioning partner working alongside engineering and data science teams to define the end-to-end Physical AI architectures across cloud, edge, and on-device environments. Oversee the journey from PoC → pilot → scaled deployment in collaboration with technology partners (NVIDIA, Azure AI, AWS, Anthropic, and domain SaaS platforms).
- Outcome Derivation & Value Realization Define outcome frameworks linking every AI intervention to quantifiable business metrics. Establish baselines, track post-deployment KPIs, and communicate ROI through executive scorecards. Build the business case for scaling pilots into enterprise programs.
- Roadmap, Governance & Adoption Co-create a AI Transformation Roadmap with clients across near-, mid-, and long-term horizons. Establish responsible AI governance — covering safety, compliance, and risk management for systems operating in physical environments. Drive change management to ensure operational teams embrace AI-augmented workflows.
Qualifications
- 10 years in AI/ML, robotics, IoT, or technology consulting — 3 years in a client-facing advisory or transformation role
- Hands-on experience with Physical AI solutions: computer vision, edge AI, digital twins, autonomous systems, or sensor-integrated ML
- Fluency across AI/ML platforms: NVIDIA (Jetson/Isaac/Omniverse), Azure AI/IoT, AWS (SageMaker/Panorama/Greengrass)
- Proven ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business value
- Experience in Steel / Agriculture/Process Chemical verticals preferred
What Success Looks Like (Year 1)
- 3–5 Physical and Agentic AI use cases identified, scoped, and in active delivery per account
- At least 2 pilots transitioned to scaled deployment with documented ROI
- AI governance framework established and operational
