Nurse Breastfeeding Specialist

Introduction

• We are seeking a skilled RN Lactation Consultant to join our team at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital. As a nursing professional with a passion for maternal and child care, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of new mothers and their infants.
• HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is a 204-bed facility in Palm Beach County, offering a wide range of services including emergency care, maternity services, and pediatric care.
• Your responsibilities as an RN Lactation Consultant will include assisting new mothers with breastfeeding techniques, providing education and support to help them navigate this critical period in their lives.
• You will work closely with our labor and delivery team to provide comprehensive patient care, monitoring vital signs and managing pain and nausea as needed.
• To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or recognized compact licensure
• Minimum of 1 year previous clinical Maternal/Child experience
• One year (1) year of Lactation Nursing experience preferred
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification
• IBCLC certification required
• Current NRP certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
